Perception Vista Open Cockpit Touring Kayaks Perception Vista is the best open cockpit kayak for coastal paddling and longer day trips. Perception Vista is longer than the Kiwis, this improves the tracking performance and forward paddling speed. The Vista's bow shape is designed to cut through any chop on the water and deflect the water, keeping the deck and seating area dryer. The stern has a built in skeg to reduce weather cocking and aid straight line tracking.
If you want to paddling along estuaries and coastline you will enjoy the easy handling performance whilst taking in the scenery and fresh air. If paddling on smaller tighter inland waters you may find the Kiwi 2 or 3 more maneuverable.
Paddling the Vista is very comfortable, Vista has a spacious seating area with comfortable high padded back rests with plenty of leg room for taller paddlers enabling you to stretch your legs when needed. (Image below shows 2 6ft paddlers with plenty of room). An optional centre child seat can be fitted between the 2 main seats.
As with all double kayaks you will find it much easier to carry the Vista with 2 people or with the aid of a canoe trolley. Perception Vista can be transported on a standard car roof rack as shown here.
