Point 65 Nemo - Recreational Day Touring Kayak for inland and coastal waters.
Test Report by Heather.
“ My last boat was the Necky Eliza which Andrew gave to me (thank you). The Eliza is superb but is more capable on the water than I am. These days my kind of kayaking is flat-water recreational paddling. Bob and the boys can have the open sea to themselves from now on. I’ve done my bit.
I am now paddling a Point 65 Nemo and for me it’s just about perfect. The thing I like most about the Nemo is that it is so easy to paddle. It moves through the water with less effort than anything I have previously paddled and I am not playing catch up all the time. I can also car top it on my own. I drive a Pug 206 where the roof rack is not too high. I can fit the rudder in 10 seconds without shouting “man” and take it off again just as quickly. The boys at Cornwall Canoes double bolted the backrest for me so it is always in the correct position. I use the rudder some times if it is breezy, but most times it is not necessary. Bob can paddle the Nemo and likes it, but he is pushing the upper weight limit. This means I get to keep my own boat, for myself, for a change.
Paddling the sheltered rivers and estuaries in Cornwall and Bantry Bay and the canals and lakes in England is now what I want to do. The Nemo is the boat for me.
When Bob and I go paddling he takes his red, white and blue Waikiki. He likes the colour scheme of his carefully made German kayak.”
