Folding Upright Bars for Transporting Kayaks

The Thule 520-1 kayak supports mounts kayaks on their side, allowing you to carry up to two kayaks on your roof. By mounting kayaks on their side it also improves aerodynamics, reducing fuel bills.

When not in use, the Thule 520-1 kayak supports can be folded down flat to reduce drag whilst driving and also allows you to drive your car into your garage without having to remove them.

The Thule 520-1 is supplied with a T track adapter so that it can be fitted directly to the T track profile used on the Thule Aero, Wing and Slide Bars. Adaptors are also included to fit the Thule 520-1 to Thule Square bars.

One pair of 2.75m Thule roof rack straps are supplied but if you are planning to carry two kayaks, you will need to buy a second pair of straps.

Note: If you are loading your kayak onto standard plastic coated bars, we suggest fitting roof bar pads for extra grip and padding. T Track bars have a rubber strip that does help with grip, although we still recommend padding for extra protection and grip on the bars. A 50cm set of roof bar pads fitted either side of the upright bar works best.
