Lightweight Pedal Kayak for Fishing

The Mirage Compass from Hobie brings a new hull design combining the bow from a Revolution and the under-hull and back end of a Pro Angler! This has created an excellent kayak for fishing and all-round touring. The 12ft hull is nimble through the water with great forwards speed along with excellent stability and manoeuvrability makes the Compass ideal for both inland waters and coastal waters.

The Compass is powered by the Mirage Drive 180 V2 with Kick-Up Fins. Efficient forwards propulsion, with reverse at the pull of a toggle! Smooth pedalling thanks to roller bearings found at the pivoting components of the drive. Kick-Up fins will automatically kick up out of the way should you strike an underwater object - this greatly reduces the chance of damaging the fins should you hit something sub-surface... or forget to take the drive out as you hot the beach! Fingertip steering using a control handle beside the seat operates the rudder beneath the stern for excellent manoeuvrability. Fish whilst on the move, take photos or film whilst on the move and much more with the Mirage Compass. The seat features quick-drying mesh and is adjustable allowing for a comfortable pedalling position to be achieved. The seat is optimally positioned in height for fishing whilst allowing for space beneath the seat for tackle storage.

The Mirage Compass is great for kayak fishing and comes complete with 2 moulded-in fishing rod holders. H-Track sections can be found either side of the foot well allowing for easy accessory mounting without the need to drill the kayak. The H-Track is compatible with all popular track mounts from Railblaza, Ram Mounts, Yak Attack and Scotty, allowing you to easily fit your fish finder, rod holders, camera mounts and more. The large rear tank well will easily house a storage crate such as the H-Crate for storage of your fishing gear, or even the Hobie Livewell, and comes with bungee tie-downs. Further gear can be stored beneath the mesh cover on the bow of the Compass. An 8 inch Twist and Stow hatch is fitted in front of the seat so that you can keep fishing tackle or bait within easy reach. A flat deck in front of the seat allows for standing in flat calm waters, for sight fishing and casting.

The Mirage Compass also comes fitted with the Lowrance-Ready system. The Lowrance-Ready system makes fish finder installation easy using a large transducer scupper under the kayak and a system of deck seals for waterproof cable routing. The deck seals are supplied separately allowing for installation where suits you best. The Compass also comes with a sail mount, deep side carry handles and moulded-in brass inserts to take optional footrests for paddling purposes.

The Compass is one of the lightest kayaks in the Mirage Kayak range, coming in at a respectable 31kg fitted hull weight, and 39kg when loaded with the Mirage Drive, Seat and Paddle.
