Tow Lines
Waist-Mounted Tow Lines for Kayaking
Tow lines are generally used to tow another kayak, either during a rescue situation when a paddler has entered the water and the kayak needs to be moved out of the way, or to tow a weak or injured paddler back to shore. Tow lines are usually mounted on a quick release belt so that the person under tow can quickly be released if the person performing the tow gets into difficulty.
Tow lines for river and general purpose use tend to be in the 3-5m range and are designed for use with Whitewater and general purpose kayaks. Sea Kayaking tow lines are normally longer, between 10 and 20 metres to accommodate the length of a sea kayak and provide the option of having more distance between the two kayaks when under tow. These are considered an essential piece of kit for sea kayaking safety.
A popular choice for its simple yet versatile design, this tow line features 10 meters of adjustable rope tucked neatly into a low-profile clamshell pocket.
A kayaking essential, these tow lines are available in a 5m and a 15m option to suit a range of paddling requirements, with a quality, functional design.
