Day Touring Sea Kayak

The North Shore Aspect is designed for those paddlers who want the quality and efficiency of a sea kayak for general coastal paddling, but in a more compact hull design. The Aspect is a great choice for those who don't necessarily need a 17ft+ sea kayak for 30 mile+ expedition trips, but are looking to put in typical 10-20 mile day trips along the coast. The Aspect has many of the hull characteristics of the longer sea kayaks, just in a shorter 14ft design. The sharp bow with moderate rocker ensures an efficient paddle in choppy coastal waters. The shallow V-hull with soft chines offers reassurance when the conditions kick up and the Aspect can be good fun to paddle in the more lively conditions.

A moderate sized stern hatch and standard round bow hatch offers storage space for day trip essentials with just enough room to take a lightweight camp kit for an overnight stay. The Aspect fills the gap between a standard day touring kayak and a full expedition sea kayak and is a great choice for the aspiring Sea Kayaker and Coastal Tourer.

Available in standard and low-volume options - the standard being best for average to larger paddlers (75-114kg), and low-volume being best for lighter weight and smaller paddlers (54-92kg).
